The inception of our coalition stemmed from a pivotal call to action by newcomers seeking coordinated access to vital resources. In their quest for peer support and a robust network, a group of immigrant leaders and advocates, well-versed in the unique challenges faced by black immigrants, stepped forward with a vision to address these issues.

Since its inception, the Black Immigrant Thrive Coalition has evolved into a dynamic network of individuals, families, and organizations united in their mission to empower, support, and celebrate black immigrants. We've developed various programs and initiatives that cater to the holistic well-being of our community, covering mentorship, mental health, leadership development, cultural integration, and advocacy.

A key aspect of our work has been the establishment of a robust peer support system within our mentorship program. This program pairs emerging leaders with experienced peer mentors, fostering transformative experiences of growth and empowerment. These mentor-mentee relationships have often turned into lifelong connections, showcasing the enduring power of empathy, shared experiences, and community support.

Our advocacy efforts have positioned us as a formidable voice for black immigrants, advocating for fair and equitable policies. Through campaigns and media outreach, we highlight the resilience, struggles, and triumphs of our community, bringing to light the invaluable contributions of black immigrants.
